Moderators
Because not every room needs a keynote — some need a compass.
Not all Pomona work happens from a stage.
Sometimes, the real magic lies in the middle — in the boardroom or the breakout session. These are the moments where ideas need shaping, decisions need focus and teams need to talk – and essentially - to listen.
Pomona facilitators and moderators are experts at helping people move things forward. They guide conversations, keep time and bring clarity — all without taking over the room.
Whether you’re mapping the future, solving problems, making plans or just trying to get people on the same page, we’ll help you find someone who brings the right mix of energy and focus.

We’re known for speakers who command a room — but we also work with people who know when to step back and let others shine.
Our moderators and facilitators aren’t just skilled communicators. They’re good listeners, calm under pressure and brilliant at reading the room. Whether it’s a workshop, panel, roundtable or multi-day retreat, they know how to get the best out of a group.
We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Every brief is different, so we look beyond the obvious and find people who truly understand your context — the sector you’re in, the dynamic in the room and the outcomes you’re aiming for.
Our moderators bring structure and neutrality, and always keen to maintain progress via any necessary method. They know when to nudge things forward, when to hold space for silence, and when to challenge the group to dig a little deeper. To keep things moving without forcing outcomes, that what we aim to do.
Many of our facilitators bring creative tools into the mix designed to unlock fresh thinking, shift perspective or break through blockages. But everything is guided by your needs, not by gimmicks.
And above all, we’re easy to work with. You won’t get a slick sales pitch, just thoughtful advice, honest feedback and a focus on helping you design a session that works — for you and for the people in the room.
Frequently Asked Questions About Moderators
-
A speaker delivers ideas to an audience — often to inspire, challenge or entertain. A facilitator, on the other hand, works within a group, helping guide discussion, spark thinking and move people towards shared decisions or outcomes. One is about delivery; the other is about direction.

If you’re looking to do more than just inform or inspire — if you want people to talk, listen or reflect — then a moderator is likely what you need. They’re especially valuable when there are multiple perspectives in the room.
-
That’s where we come in. We’ll take time to understand the format of your session, who’s in the room, and what success looks like — then we’ll recommend someone who fits the tone, dynamic and subject matter. It’s not just about finding someone good; it’s about finding the right person for your setting.
-
Some do — and they’ll bring those tools in where they add value. Others prefer to work with your structure or co-create something new with you. Whether it’s design thinking, Lego Serious Play, innovation profiling or simple post-its and markers, we’ll tailor the approach to your team and your goals.
-
Yes — and in many cases, that’s the best setup. Our moderators can support your internal facilitators or lead the day entirely. They’re happy to co-design, share the load or simply hold the space so that internal leaders can fully participate instead of managing the process.
-
Ideally, three to six months gives everyone time to plan properly — especially for multi-day sessions or large groups. That said, we know things move fast, and we have experienced people who can jump in at shorter notice. Just give us a call and we’ll see what’s possible.
-
Fees vary depending on the scope and size of the session, the experience of the facilitator and how much prep time is needed. We’ll always be transparent about costs and help you understand where the value lies. Often, a well-run session doesn’t just save time — it unlocks better thinking creates momentum.
