Alex Staniforth
The Adversity Adventurer
By 19 years old, Alex Staniforth had survived two of the most devastating disasters in the history of Mount Everest – in two consecutive years. However, his biggest mountains have been much closer to home: epilepsy, bullying, mental health and a stammer since childhood. This is more than a typical success story – Alex shares his Resilience Rucksack tools that anyone can apply in order to conquer their own ‘Everest’.
A record-breaking adventurer, ultra-endurance athlete, inspirational keynote speaker, author and founder of mental health charity ‘Mind over Mountain’, he has accomplished more than most – before his 30th birthday.
His adventures began at just 16, when he completed the National 3 Peaks Challenge and climbed Mont Blanc, before tackling the Himalayas in 2013. In 2017, Alex set a record as the fastest person to climb all 100 UK county tops by bike, foot, and kayak, covering over 5,000 miles in just 72 days, earning the Pride of Britain Fundraiser of the Year award.
Trusted by global companies such as Rolls Royce, Samsung and Bank of America, he helps teams, leaders and students build the resilience, mind-set and well-being to overcome challenges, embrace change and achieve the extraordinary.
