Event logistics: learning from my mistakes

I am relaxed about the logistics of speaking gigs these days. Sometimes rather too relaxed. To the point where recently I arrived at the venue the night before a gig with no real idea what time I was on, precisely where in the large venue my talk was taking place, and how I should contact the client to find out.

Fortunately, my relaxedness paid off this time and just wandering around before I grabbed some dinner, I found the right room, and chatted to the AV people. Then the following morning I wandered back there nice and early and bumped into the client before breakfast.

So, 12 years into a professional speaking career I’m still learning from my mistakes. And you get to learn with me. So I’ve put together a couple of little guidance articles in the resources section.
